Emily Knight is a marine scientist and manager for the Lenfest Ocean Program, a grant-making program with the Pew Charitable Trusts that invests in scientific research to address the needs of ocean and coastal managers and policymakers. She has been writing and reading poetry for over twenty years, and has taken a number of classes and workshops whenever possible, including from such organizations as the Writing Salon, Berkeley, CA, Hugo House, Seattle, WA, and Gotham Writers’ Workshop, New York, NY, to name a few. She holds a master’s degree in oceanography from the University of Maine
